Protecting the security and privacy of your personal data is important to the Health Services Staffs Credit Union Limited; therefore, we conduct our business in compliance with applicable laws on data privacy protection and data security.

Collection and Use of Information

As part of its normal operations, this application collects data on user actions and activity to maintain an audit trail of data delivery. This includes:

• Dates and times of when messages are created and/or read
• Dates and times of when attachments are downloaded
• Dates and times of when files are uploaded
• Location information may be requested by your browser but this is completely optional

This information is only accessible to authorised application users and is only used for the purposes of securely processing data within the HSSCU Securemail platform. No external parties have access to this information.

Retention of Data

Within HSSCU Securemail, individual messages are given specific expiry dates. Once a message has expired, the associated attachments are automatically removed from the system. By default, messages have a lifespan of 10 days. Aggregated usage data for statistical reports may be kept for longer periods. User account information will continue to be stored securely to enable future authentication for additional messages. If you wish to be removed from this system, please contact info@hsscu.ie and we will remove your account.

Security

To ensure the highest level of security of information passing between you and our application, HSSCU Securemail ensures that all communications take place over SSL encrypted channels. This is an encryption method that scrambles information in transit to prevent it being viewed or tampered with.

HSSCU Securemail uses session cookies that only last for the duration of your visit and are deleted when you close your browser. They are essential for secure use of this site and enable the delivery of basic functionality. Specifically, they contain configuration information that ensures the security and integrity of your session, preventing fraudulent use and keeping you signed in while you move between pages. If you disable cookies then you will not be able to use HSSCU Securemail.
